  • Jeffrey Whiteney

    Jeff Whiteney is a locally raised artist. He is a Navy veteran who has been into art since childhood. After a life as a rolling stone, he settled back into his hometown and decided to try his best to leave a positive impact on the town that raised him. He feels truly blessed to be able to bring art to La Porte and is thankful for his town’s support.”

  • Ryan Wannemacher

    Ryan, a self-taught artist, has called La Porte home since 2001, where he lives and works alongside his family. With a decade of professional experience, he primarily utilizes a unique finger-painting technique, employing bold lines and simple colors to convey complex emotions and ideas. Currently, Ryan is exploring new mediums and anticipates debuting these experimental pieces at the upcoming show. He and his wife chose La Porte as their family's home in 2001. Ryan finds particular enjoyment in art festivals, valuing the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about art, which he considers to be the core essence of his work.

  • Lorrie Berger

    Lorrie, a vibrant 60-year-old artist, enthusiastically shares her creations at various social venues, including Trade Days on Main Street and local art walks. A Texas-based artist, she began painting in 2017 as a hobby to fill her time after her daughter went to college, and she hasn't stopped creating since. Her passion for art led her to establish a Facebook page to showcase her work. Lorrie's involvement in these events began during her daughter's college years, starting with a juried art show in Texas City and an art walk on 6th Street, experiences that ignited her enduring love for public art displays. An acrylic painting artist who also enjoys crafts and outdoor markets, Lorrie participated in the previous year's art walk and eagerly anticipates returning. She finds immense joy in connecting with people who appreciate and acquire original artwork, and she has participated in numerous art shows in Houston and markets throughout the Bay Area.

Her artwork can be found at the Cuban Cafe, and she is eager to participate in her second consecutive art walk. Mackenzie primarily works with acrylic paints and also enjoys crafting keychains, coasters, and tote bags. Art serves as an essential outlet for her, and she hopes to inspire others to explore their own creative potential. Driven by a desire to grow as an artist and increase her visibility, Mackenzie uses painting as a means of personal expression and to encourage others to express themselves creatively.

    Adrian, a Pasadena native and 2010 SRHS graduate, has flourished as a full-time artist for five years. His mission centers on educating youth about creativity and self-development, fueled by his art's vibrant fusion of Houston and Latin cultural influences. His work, visible in South Houston and Pasadena, and expanding into downtown projects, aims to inspire boundless goal-setting and promote unity through color and southern flair.

    Adrian's art embodies a diverse approach, moving between realism, abstraction, and pop art. This blend allows him to create pieces that are both visually engaging and culturally resonant. He uses his talents to bring awareness to the limitless potential of individuals, while also injecting his unique southern flavor into the urban landscape.

    Brianna Stephenson is 20 years old and has been painting since she was a child. She mainly does acrylic painting and some mixed media and abstract art.

    Brandon Islas, born in Houston, Texas, discovered his passion for art at the age of seven. Diagnosed with autism at six, he channeled his unique perspective into a distinctive artistic style. A combination of formal art classes and self-taught techniques, learned from school, books, and online resources, have shaped his talent. Raised by his parents and two sisters, Brandon, the youngest in the family, expresses deep gratitude for his journey and identity.

  • Julieta Cervantes

    Julieta has always been in love with art, which began as a hobby. She then started participating in art markets, which she thoroughly enjoys. Using natural stones and glass beads, she experiments with combinations of these materials to create various kinds of jewelry.

  • Ginger Maclay

    As a web designer, graphic artist, and the owner of Lucky Ace Web Design in La Porte, Ginger brings a lifelong passion for art to her work. Her artistic journey includes apprenticing at the Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope, Alabama, attending Savannah College of Art & Design, and ultimately graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in 3D computer animation. Her artistic tastes lean towards the 1920s, the Victorian Era, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Film Noir, as well as mermaids and retro pinup art. She creates her paintings using acrylics, often incorporating printed origami paper and mixed media.

  • Brandon Napper

    Description goes hereBrandon Napper, a proud La Porte resident, despite being originally from Cleveland, Texas, has deep roots in the community. He moved to La Porte in 2014, graduating high school in 2017, and his connection to Old La Porte runs deep, with his first job at El Toro and first car purchase on Main Street. He is a full-time mural artist, specializing in murals, window paintings, and signs, and is known for creating the original Dimensions Comics sign and holiday window art on Main Street. He is also actively studying animation and creating digital art. Inspired by his mother, a fellow La Porte resident, he considers it an honor to participate in the upcoming local event.

    Mallary, a fun-loving single mother of two, has a deep passion for nature photography. Her favorite subject is capturing close-up images of flowers, revealing the intricate fractals and hidden worlds within. She delights in photographing the overlooked, encouraging others to appreciate the beauty in the details. Mallary wishes to share her prints, showcasing both her detailed flower photography and other pieces designed to evoke tranquility and serve as a gentle reminder to slow down and appreciate the present moment.

As an art major, she immerses herself in her craft both at home and in the classroom. Eager to connect with fellow artists, she is particularly excited about the upcoming local event. While charcoal and oil paint are among her favorite mediums, the constraints of her home studio space lead her to focus primarily on digital art. Belona plans to showcase and sell a diverse range of her original fine art, including oil paintings, charcoal drawings, and ceramics, alongside prints and merchandise featuring her digital fan art, such as enamel pins and stickers.

  • Ruby Rodriguez

    Ruby, a high school student, shares a long-standing passion for art with a close friend. Their artistic focus centers on DIY creations inspired by space and plant life.

  • Nhien Dinh

    Nhien, a mother of three, has always nurtured a deep love for art and self-expression, and she is passionate about empowering others to do the same. She finds joy in creating, sharing inspirational ideas and quotes, and encouraging positive mindsets and creative exploration. While she enjoys digital art, her current focus is on sharing life lessons to connect with and uplift others. Nhien is also rediscovering her artistic roots, incorporating hand lettering with mandalas, colored pencils, gel pens, and occasionally paints and pastels. Her work is primarily inspirational and uplifting, designed to bring a sense of peace and encouragement.

    Chidera, a 22-year-old Black portrait artist, works across a diverse range of mediums, including oil paints, digital art, charcoal, pencil, and soft pastels. With a B.A. in Illustration, Chidera's artistic focus lies in capturing the unique features and charm of individuals, expressing both their personal interpretation and inviting viewers to see the subject through their eyes. This approach creates a compelling connection, allowing audiences to resonate with unfamiliar faces, a quality Chidera finds to be the beauty of portraiture. While their portfolio includes flat and colorful vector art, Chidera's current work centers on portraiture with expressive brushstrokes, utilizing both muted and saturated colors. Their style leans towards a blend of realism and impressionism, emphasizing accurate proportions while exploring rich textures within their art.
